Horse Ploughing 2017

In February the Ulster Folk Museum at Holywood hold a Horse Ploughing and Country Skills Day. As well as ploughing there are demonstrations of rope making, sheep dogs, a working blacksmith’s forge and traditional country cooking among other skills.

The event is always held a week before the Mullahead Ploughing competition. This is a big event in the horse ploughing calendar and this year it is celebrating its 103rd anniversary.
