Some people take their coffee very seriously.

Pickie to Pier
The Pickie to Pier swim in Bangor leaves Skippingstone Beach, just past the Pickie play area and finishes at the RNLI launch ramp at the base of Eisenhower Pier. It’s a distance of around 800 metres and about 200 swimmers take part.
After a 30 year lapse the swim was relaunched in 2019. It was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid, but returned in 2021.
This year the swim took place, for the first time in the evening, on Friday, 8 July 2022.
Spring
It’s Summer but I took this photograph in the Spring. Now thoughts are turning to repairs, general tidying up and staining fences and sheds to prepare for the Winter. The seasons exert more influence on us than we like to think, even in the 21st Century.
Wheaten Bread
Wheaten bread tastes nice, especially with cheese.
It uses baking soda as a leavening agent instead of yeast so you don’t get that bloated feeling when you eat it.
North West 200
The North West 200 motorcycle races at Portrush are Northern Ireland’s largest annual sporting event and usually attract over 150000 people.
Watching motorbike races and spending time with friends and family. What’s not to like?
And there’s a beach.
Festival of Fools
A celebration of street entertainment over the Mayday holiday weekend. The festival is the largest comedy and street theatre festival in the country, taking place mostly in Cathedral Quarter but also throughout the city.
It was a dull wet day and I have desaturated some of the colours to add atmosphere.
The Debater
Today the Anti Vaccination Passport people had another rally in Belfast, the last one of the year. I didn’t get any images I was happy with and I’ve already posted twice on these protests so here’s something different.
This guy was standing at the entrance to Corn Market inviting debate on children being taught to eat animals. He was happy to have his photograph taken and happy to put his opinion forward in a friendly, civilised way.
We need more people like him.
